A Record-Breaking Night: 2025 Dallas Business Hall of Fame Raises $1.25 Million for JA Dallas
The 2025 Dallas Business Hall of Fame, benefiting Junior Achievement of Dallas, was an evening of inspiration, celebration and generosity. Held on February 22 at the Omni Dallas Hotel, this premier event honored three distinguished business leaders—Allie Beth Allman, Curtis C. Farmer and Dale Petroskey—while raising an incredible $1.25 million to support financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship education for Dallas-area students.
An Evening of Celebration and Impact
With 650 guests in attendance, the evening began with a lively cocktail hour featuring a silent auction filled with exclusive getaways and signed sports memorabilia. Dia Wall, WFAA-TV Anchor/Reporter, served as the evening’s emcee, guiding the program with energy and enthusiasm.
A highlight of the night was the recognition of Palak Patel, a senior at Plano East Senior High School, as the 2025 JA Dallas Student of the Year. Selected from a pool of over 100 applicants, Patel received the $10,000 Sandi Smith Scholarship to pursue her education at Texas A&M University. Reflecting on her JA journey, Patel shared, “Challenges and failures aren’t roadblocks—they are stepping stones to growth.”
A Community United in Giving
Thanks to the generosity of Presenting Sponsor Ryan and many other supporters, the event raised vital funds to further JA Dallas’ mission. Brint Ryan, Chairman and CEO of Ryan, emphasized the importance of investing in young people:
“Every dollar raised tonight will help Junior Achievement reach even more scholars like Palak. Together, we can help them step into their future with confidence, ready to lead and make a difference.”
Guests were also moved by inspiring testimonials from Lynette Howard, Principal of J.P. Starks Math, Science and Technology Vanguard and Reggie Colby, longtime JA volunteer and past board member, who spoke about JA’s transformational impact on students, particularly in underserved communities.
Auction Highlights & A Surprise Challenge Gift
The live auction, led by auctioneer Matt Newsom, raised $112,500 with incredible experiences up for bid. During the live appeal, generous donors stepped up in a big way. Brint Ryan and Allie Beth Allman each pledged $25,000, followed by a surprise $250,000 challenge gift from Mark Cuban, encouraging guests to help JA reach its $1 million fundraising goal.
Honoring the 2025 Laureates
Each of this year’s Laureates shared insights from their remarkable careers:
- Allie Beth Allman, introduced by student Myles Davis, emphasized gratitude, hard work and respect as the pillars of her success in real estate.
- Curtis C. Farmer, introduced by Mason Gutierrez, urged students to “be bold, be curious and be relentless” in pursuing their passions.
- Dale Petroskey, introduced by Samara and Samone Anderson, reflected on his father’s entrepreneurial spirit and the importance of financial literacy for future success.
