Letter from our Chairman

Dear JA Supporters,
"It was great for the students to meet people who have been in their shoes and are now in successful business roles."
- Burnet Elementary teacher

JA does make a difference, one child at a time. In fact, 50,000 times during the 2015-2016 school year throughout schools in the Dallas area.

In a competing global economy, comprised of constant innovation and changing technology, it is critical that education keep pace and prepare students for future career and economic success. The best way to expose students to the possibilities of their future careers and ensure their financial stability as adults is through opportunities for hands-on financial literacy and economic education. Through mentors who work in today’s highest growth fields and the use of expertly designed and tailored curriculum, Junior Achievement (JA) of Dallas believes students can receive the proper financial education and basic business skills in order to navigate our global economy. For many students in the Dallas area, these essential skills are out of reach—not taught in school or by parents at home. JA Dallas has been serving as a conduit to financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education for over 60 years, bringing business and community volunteers into schools to teach financial and business skills relevant to changing times. JA Dallas’ core purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
The JA Dallas Board of Directors completed a strategic plan with a goal to expand our impact to 60,000 students by the school year 2017-18.  With your help, we can continue to achieve these gains across the community, starting with our most at-risk student populations. By providing business volunteers an opportunity to mentor students through sharing their experiences in conjunction with JA curriculum, we are giving students the opportunity to dream—and most importantly, the knowledge and tools to plan and achieve anything to which they aspire.  I invite you to share our promise of Empowering young people to own their economic success.
Thank you.
